Mercedes Benz set a new standard for the personal luxury coupe when the 560 SEC was introduced in September 1981 for the 1982 model year. The car was developed on the W126 chassis introduced a few years earlier and would continue to be offered by the luxury automaker through the 1991 model year in two distinct generations.

This excellent, 52,000 mile 1989 Mercedes Benz 560SEC is a great example of the second generation of the model. The car was acquired by the present owner in December 2011 and has been driven occasionally during his ownership. This car has a classic, refined apperance with the combination of black paint and tan leather interior and the car shows well with no evidence of rust or corrosion present. Power is derived from a 5.5L gasoline V8 backed with a four-speed automatic transmission. All of the power accessories one would expect from a luxury car are present. Safety features include a driver’s airbag.

All mechanical systems and instrumentation appear to be in good working order. The car is in excellent condition for a vehicle of this era and drives out as one would expect from a luxury vehicle of this vintage. While the seller believes the odometer reading to be correct in accordance with Missouri statutes the car will be sold “mileage exempt” due to age.
