While the Pontiac division of General Motors is generally credited with creating the muscle car era with the 1964 Pontiac GTO, the Chevy Chevelle SS 396 holds a special place in the hearts of auto enthusiasts.  The combination of fantastic design and great performance created a legendary automobile.

This 1967 Chevelle SS396 tribute car began life at the Baltimore assembly plant between Nov. 27 and Nov. 30, 1967 as a Marina Blue Malibu convertible with a black imitation leather interior.  At some point in its life prior to the current owner’s acquisition the car received a painstaking high-quality restoration into the beautiful car it is today.

This vehicle has been a part of the present owner’s classic vehicle portfolio since July 2006 and has been kept in a humidity-controlled environment.  The car has seen occasional parade duty and recreational driving under his ownership.

It’s hard not to notice the striking yellow paint, which bring out a stark contrast to the white bucket seat interior.  The powertrain is a 350 horsepower 396 cubic inch V8, backed by a floor-shifted two-speed Powerglide automatic.  Cragar Super Sport wheels complete the classic muscle car look.

Due to rules regulating sales by licensed Missouri auto dealers, this attention-drawing 1967 Chevelle SS 396 tribute car will be sold “mileage exempt” due to age.
