Highlights
Taking you back to the 1970's, this car features an aftermarket widebody kit that adds a custom touch to an already great looking sports car! It's a blast to drive and rare enough to attract a lot of attention at car shows!

When Ford Company’s Lincoln-Mercury division announced the acquisition of North American distribution rights to the De Tomaso Pantera in 1971, many in the auto industry were stunned that the traditionally conservative company would undertake selling the Italian-influenced sport car.  De Tomaso produced roughly 7,200 automobiles over the next 20 years, with three-quarters of that number directly attributed to Lincoln-Mercury dealers.

The Pantera (Italian for Panther) debuted on Mercury dealers in 1971 and continued to be offered until 1975.  The car had minor changes from year to year during that evolution, but the basic vehicle stayed relatively true to the original with power from Ford’s 351 Cleveland-4V powerplant and the 5-speed manual ZF transaxle.

This 1972 Pantera has seen body modifications from the original with the addition of an aftermarket wide-body kit, something very popular to do with these cars.  The car has been repainted a deep maroon that is showing the signs of being enjoyed over the past decades but still presents well.  The black leather interior appears to be original and also presents very well.

Powered by the correct 351 Cleveland and 5-speed transaxle, runs and drives as one would expect from the naturally-aspirated 300 HP engine.  It’s a fun car to drive and commands attention everywhere it goes!  While we believe the 48,000-plus miles on the odometer to be correct we cannot substantiate this fact and in accordance with statutes regarding licensed Missouri auto dealers this 1972 Pantera will be offered “mileage exempt” due to age.
